Land O’ Lakes High School was temporarily on alert campus status out of an abundance of caution after receiving a report that there was a suspicious person on campus. Staff inadvertently activated the school’s Active Threat Plan, requiring PSO deputies to initiate a full search of the campus—to include physical clearance of each room. After a thorough search, Pasco Sheriff’s Office deputies determined the suspicious person was an employee at Land O’ Lakes High School, and the report was deemed accidental in nature. There is no threat to Land O’ Lakes High School, and normal operations have resumed.
