Lieutenant Zoccoli has been working for the Pasco Sheriff’s Office for 10 years and has recently earned a brand new position for recruiting and hiring. She started this new position in September and has already been working hard to evaluate the PSO hiring process and make it more efficient.
“I love it!” stated Lieutenant Zoccoli, “I love working for this agency so it’s an opportunity to talk about something that I’m passionate about so it makes it really easy!”
Lieutenant Zoccoli works individual applications as well as reviews them. She also attends recruiting events, such as job fairs, career fairs, and visiting colleges. She has been working with these career opportunities to recruit for both civilian and certified positions.
“For anything from CPI to law enforcement to interns and just helping our agency grow as it has been!” said Lieutenant Zoccoli.
Before working for the Pasco Sheriff’s Office Lieutenant Zoccoli earned her Bachelor’s degree at St. Leo University. She took the police academy as her internship and applied to two different agencies, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office and one in New Hampshire, which is where she is originally from. Despite not having relatives in Florida at the time, Lieutenant Zoccoli decided to take her chances in Florida.
“Surprisingly it worked out amazingly because 10 years later here I am with a family and a career I’m very proud of!”
During her time at the PSO Lieutenant Zoccoli has worked as a Field Training Officer, a patrol deputy, Property Crimes Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Youth Services Sergeant and a Shift Commander as a Lieutenant. Lieutenant Zoccoli’s history with law enforcement is an incredible asset to the recruiting and hiring process because she is very familiar with the agency and its different departments.

As someone who has worked in law enforcement for over 10 years and is a recruiter for the Pasco Sheriff’s Office she has excellent advice for anyone thinking about a career in law enforcement.
“Advice to future applicants would be integrity,” said Lieutenant Zoccoli. “Always maintain your integrity because one it’s lost in this career, whether it’s through something you post, whether it’s from your actions or your lack of omission or anything. Integrity is everything and more importantly, equally important is we all go home together! We all have to take care of each other and support each other. Sometimes that’s being back up on the streets, sometimes it’s being that shoulder when it’s a rough night. Whatever the case may be, we all go home right every evening.”
