Community Alert: Unlicensed Contractor Operation
Pasco Sheriff’s Office’s Economic Crimes Unit conducted an unlicensed contractor operation between Sept. 2-4, in the West Pasco County area, resulting in nine arrests of individuals performing work without the necessary licenses. These subjects offered to complete contracting services to include, but not limited to, electrical, roofing, plumbing and garage door installation. During the investigation, it was determined that these individuals did not possess the proper licensing to complete any jobs they had quoted during this operation. Contractor fraud renders victims liable for damages and reduces resources in a contract breach. PSO urges citizens to review the tips below regarding unlicensed contractor scams to minimize their chances of being victimized.
PSO shares our appreciation with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation for its assistance in this important operation, which ensures the safety of our citizens.
