Community Alert: Unlicensed Contractor Operation

Pasco Sheriff’s Office’s Economic Crimes Unit conducted an unlicensed contractor operation between April 20-23, 2026, in the West Pasco County area, resulting in 14 arrests of individuals performing work without the necessary licenses during the operation date. These subjects offered to complete contracting services to include, but not limited to, marine contracting, plumbing, and air conditioning installation. During the investigation, it was determined these individuals did not have the proper licensing to complete any jobs that they quoted during this operation. Contractor fraud renders victims liable for damages and reduces resources in a contract breach. PSO urges citizens to review the tips below to reduce their risk of being victimized by unlicensed contractor scams.

PSO thanks the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation for assisting with this important operation to ensure the safety of our citizens.

Verify a contractor’s license at www.MyFloridaLicense.com. If you believe you may be the victim of an unlicensed contractor, please call the Pasco Sheriff’s Non-Emergency Line at:
