Community Alert: Armed Burglary Arrest, New Port Richey
Yesterday, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office arrested a 12-year-old juvenile for armed burglary while wearing a mask, as well as for possession of a firearm by a minor.
On June 23, around 3 a.m., surveillance footage captured the juvenile in the Tidal Pond Dr. area of New Port Richey, attempting to pull on multiple vehicle door handles and unlawfully entering several cars. The juvenile took a handgun from an unlocked vehicle, along with several items from other cars. Deputies determined the juvenile’s location, recovered the stolen items, and made an arrest.
This case serves as an important reminder to lock your doors every night as part of the #9pmRoutine. To protect your car from theft, ensure that the doors are locked and the windows are closed. When criminals cannot quickly access a vehicle, they are more likely to move on.
